Lucky Bamboo comes from original stock and is extremely hardy. They will grow indoors for years with virtually no care, requiring only an inch or two of water.
A few drops of diluted fertilizer will cause them to grow rapidly, otherwise they will remain the same size. This lucky charm will keep giving, too: you can break off a stem and re-plant it in water.
A note to remember: only use purified water - not
tap. It is highly recommended for the water to be changed every three
days for it to quickly root. It can then be added to your arrangement of
lucky bamboos or you can pass it on to a friend.
For better Feng Shui, Lucky Bamboo will improve the flow of Chi. Place the plant on the East side of the house, and/or the left back corner of the office, cubicle, or living room when facing from the door. It should be in a bright area, but not in direct sunlight.
